REIKI Introduction Reiki is a very ancient form of healing which spread through Tibet,
China and India a few thousand years ago practiced by Tibetan lamas.
It was rediscovered in the 1870’s by Dr Mikao Usui who after many
years travelling in search of truth rediscovered the ancient Sanskrit
healing symbols which turned his life into one of healing and teaching
Reiki. How it works The Reiki healer acts as a channel for this life energy, which is passed through the healer via the hands then into the recipient, thus activating the body’s natural ability to heal. It works wherever it is most needed within the body, mind and spirit and release any blocked energies, cleansing the body of any toxins and aiding to restore the bodies natural balance. What to expect Reiki treatments are a simple and non intrusive but extremely powerful
process. The patient or recipient lays fully clothed either on a massage
table, a bed or even the floor and quite often covered with a blanket.
Reiki is given by the laying on of hands placed on particular positions
on various parts of parts of the body that correspond to the physical
body, its organs and the seven Chakras. The hands are held in each position
for a few minutes. The treatment is given through clothing. The Reiki
energy automatically activates and radiates from the palms of the practitioners
hands. On this happening it activates the body’s own healing mechanism.
